Reviews for Swayam Patil Khanaval
Review highlights
Based on 1,377 reviewsSwayam Patil Khanaval is widely recognized for its authentic Konkani seafood offerings, particularly dishes like pomfret and surmai thalis that consistently receive positive feedback for quality and flavor. Diners appreciate the genuine coastal taste and generous portions, making it a favored choice in Diveagar. However, the restaurant experiences high demand, especially during peak seasons, leading to crowded conditions and wait times. Operating hours are strictly observed, typically closing by 10 pm, which patrons are advised to plan around. While seafood is highly praised, vegetarian options receive mixed reviews, often considered less remarkable compared to nearby eateries. Overall, the khanaval stands out for its traditional seafood cuisine and bustling, popular atmosphere.
We ordered 1 veg thali, 1 surmai thali, 1 egg thali. Quantity and quality was good as expected. It gets closed by 10pm. Timing is mostly 7 to 7.30 pm - 9.30 to 10pm max. Strict timing. Most of the time it's crowded and you may have to wait in a line. If you are coming here during peak season plan accordingly.
Awesome seafood. We tried pomfret fish thali and bangda fry, it was good. They serve authentic Konkan style seafood.
If you want to try sea food, this one is good and very famous khanaval to try in Dive agar. Food is limited and the rush is very high so try come very Early (Approx 7:30 to 8:00) timeframe. A big parking space is available near to khanaval lane (two houses down). Personally I didn't like the taste of veg food as the hotel I was staying has great taste, but I should suggest to try for Pomfret thali.
